Last year, Dancer’s Aligoté was from young vines in Nantoux in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune. From 2022, Dancer has started working with old vine Aligoté from Meursault, and the quality has gone through the roof. It’s made in the same way as the Vincent Dancer whites, crafted using large-format barrel over winter before resting in vat before bottling. There was only one racking, and the wine was bottled with only the barest whiff of sulphur. As for the wine, it is delicious. Pulpy and generous, yet with a long, racy close. There’s more depth and intensity this time around, not just from the quality of the year but also the more powerful terroir.
