Made with the same exacting standards as the Estate Chardonnay, Wickhams Road is a more forward, juicy and immediately balanced style. It's nigh impossible to find a Chardonnay that competes with this wine's quality/value ledger.

In 2024, the fruit was sourced from a selection of vineyards in Upper Yarra, mainly Macclesfield and Woori Yallock. Each subregion contributes something unique to the blend, with the Woori Yallock component bringing mid-palate weight and Macclesfield lending finesse and fresh, linear drive. As always, the fruit was picked by hand in the cool of the morning. The wine spent a short maturation on lees after natural fermentation.

Reviews

“Quite a juicy affair offering nectarine, grapefruit, a little cinnamon spice and almond biscuit. It’s medium-bodied, has some nutty savoury input in with white peach and citrus, a gently chalky texture, bright and kind of intense acidity, and good length of flavour. It feels cool, but there’s some pleasing ripeness with a good amount of Chardonnay flavour on offer. It’s all about the fruit here, delivered in fine shape, without too much winemaking ego and artifice. I like it.”
91 points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
“Bright medium-light yellow hue with a smoked meaty charcuterie bouquet, including lemon butter and tangy lime leaf. The wine is bright, lively, elegantly structured and energetic on the tongue, a multitude of lemony flavours lingering long on the farewell. Amazing value.”
