This domaine bottling is drawn from a 0.4-hectare plot of 50-year-old vines in the lieu-dit of La Combe in Puligny-Montrachet, planted on silt, clay and limestone soils. Naturally fermented and raised with just 15% new oak, the quality here is nothing short of terrific—it tastes like a baby-Puligny (as always). Just outstanding for the level.

Reviews

“Offering up aromas of pear, white currant, nutmeg and fresh pastry, the 2019 Bourgogne Chardonnay is medium to full-bodied, lively and charming, with a seamless, enveloping profile. Cropped at a mere 20 hectoliters per hectare from frosted vines, located in lieu-dit La Combe in the commune of Puligny-Montrachet, this is a haut couture regional wine that carried a very modest tariff for the quality in the bottle.” 88-90 points
