The domaine now works with 12 parcels in Puligny, many of which feature in this village cuvée. In the main, this wine comes from five well-placed sites—Les Meix, Les Enseignères, Corvée des Vignes, Les Noyers Bret and Les Houillères—where the youngest vines are 25 years old and the average age is considerably higher. Like all the whites, this fermented spontaneously and was raised in 350-litre barrels. The latest release is true to the Bachelet style of Puligny (that we love so much), with wonderful purity, good pulpy depth, lifted floral and citrus aromatics and a gorgeously precise, zesty, long, mineral personality.

Bachelet-Monnot Puligny-Montrachet 2022

Reviews

“The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Village has a stern bouquet with petrichor and Granny Smiths - perhaps needing a little more intensity? The well-balanced palate has a smooth entry, with lime and orange pith and a fine bead of acidity. But maybe its Chassagne-Montrachet counterpart finishes with a touch more complexity. Still, this will give a decade of drinking pleasure.”
89-91 points, Neal Martin, Vinous
“Fine mid lemon yellow. A class nose, more accessible than the Meursault, with well-judged ripeness, good acidity, and though it speaks less on the palate for the moment, this will come. Fine apple notes and some minerality to finish confirm the class.”
90-92 points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy
