This is the estate’s village white, coming only from domaine-grown fruit. The 2019 was drawn from five organically managed plots: La Martelle, La Bergerie, En Guesnes, Chaponnière and Le Meix Cadot. The vines have an average age of 40-plus years, with the oldest approaching 100 years—staggering for the Chalonnaise. Dureuil’s fastidiousness in the vineyard and cellar have produced a super-intense, vibrant white, with a lot more chalky tension and flesh than you should expect for the level. The wine was entirely vinified in barrel, with 20% new oak (Vincent uses the Chassin cooperage, barrels among Burgundy’s finest).
