Like the rouge, this is a blinder from Thierry Pillot. It comes mostly from a very well situated, 0.6-hectare parcel on a northeast-facing hillside just south of Chassagne, where the vines are now 35 years old. There is also a little Chassagne villages fruit in the blend. The grapes were hand-picked, pressed, left to settle, and then naturally fermented on lees for 12 months in small stainless-steel vats and older barrels. The wine was then blended and settled for a further six months in tank before bottling. A beautifully pitched Bourgogne with much more depth than you would typically expect for the level. Do not hesitate.
