Voyager’s Project label is one of those gifts that keeps on giving. This latest release is 63% Cabernet, 11% Tempranillo, 10% Malbec, 7% Cabernet Franc, 7% Merlot and 2% Grenache. the fruit is sourced from the most recently planted vines and clones across the Voyager Estate vineyards.
This was fermented as a layer cake, with 30% whole bunches sandwiched between layers of de-stemmed fruit. The cap was wet once daily for five days to minimise tannin extraction, and then pressed off skins. The juice then finished fermentation in stainless steel and matured for three months on light lees before being lightly racked and bottled unfined in July 2022. This is delicious and terrific value.
