100% Grenache sourced from Bonar's own Rayner vineyard (30%) and two sources on the sandy soils of McLaren Flat. The three parcels were vinified separately then blended to create a wine that is fresh and pure, yet has a presence and interest behind it. Fruit from all blocks was grown using organic practices, with minimal chemical inputs. The Rayner fruit was fermented at warmer temperatures in old oak to build mouthfeel and give us more interesting, savoury flavours, while the remainder was fermented cooler with some solids in stainless steel, to preserve brightness and purity of fruit.

A pale, fleshy and deliciously red-fruited Rosé from a producer that can do no wrong. Perfect balance and some lovely complexity make this an exceptional buy.

Bondar Rosé 2021

Reviews

“Pale salmon pink; full-on perfume of rose petals and bath powder, but it's the intensity of the brilliantly juicy palate that makes this so special.”
96 points, James Halliday, Wine Companion
"A juicy, dry rosé that offers such intense aromas and flavors. Packed with orchard fruit – peaches, apples and pears. Explosive red-fruit flavors on the palate, such as strawberry and watermelon. So fresh. Drink now. Screw cap."
92 points, Jamessuckling.com
“Musk, rosehip, a smattering of spice, pepper and herbs, redcurrant and tangerine. It’s bright, crunchy, with a gentle chalky grip, and a tangy orange and redcurrant finish of precision and fine length. Delightful.”
93 points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
