The chalky Chevalières lieu-dit sits high up on the slope above the village, right next to Les Rougeots, and regularly makes wines that could easily justify a Premier Cru classification. In fact, Les Chevalières is an extension of the Premier Cru band that runs across the Meursault hill—with pretty much the same soils and altitude. Always a benchmark lieu-dit wine, the 2021 is outstanding.

Reviews

“Also quite coloured at the moment with a fatter nose. 13% natural. Leaner on the palate with both lemon and lime infiltrated the quite generous apple and white stone fruit. Excellent length, quite mineral, and with persistence.”
90-92 points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy
“The 2021 Meursault Les Chevalières is terrific, with all the cut and tension of a wine from two decades ago. Mingling notes of crisp pear and green apple with notions of orange oil, freshly baked bread and white flowers, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, with racy acids, chalky extract and a long, penetrating finish.”
90-93 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
