Les Champs-Gains lies close to the village, just under Les Caillerets. Thierry Pillot notes that this vineyard is less stony than his parcel in Les Mazures and always picks early to keep the tension. The Pillot family farms only 0.38 hectares of vines here, on a gentle slope. The deeper clay profile of the soil and 45-year-old vines bring genuine depth and texture, but as the notes below make clear, there is always plenty of freshness and mineral drive to balance the delicious waves of fruit. The 2022 is a superb example.
